Art Collection and Events
The ballroom walls are graced with changing exhibitions of art by area artists. These exhibitions present a wide range of images, styles, techniques and media, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, colored pencil, ink, fiber and film.

"Meet the Artist" programs, luncheons and receptions are often held in conjunction with current shows.
The Club owns a fine collection of more than fifty art works, including pieces by Emil Weddige, Richard Witt, Milt Kemnitz, Bill Lewis, Herbert Johe, Barbara Dorr, Doug Hesseltine, Frank Cassara and Al Mullen. Eleven Clayton Lewis watercolors depicting local historic houses enhance the walls of the dining room. Five photographs of the original Canfield house (now the Ann Arbor City Club) in the 1930s hang in the Petite Dining Room. The photograph on this page is of a work by Al Mullen.
AACC members have the opportunity to learn and create with varied media, in classes led by members Mary Bachm
an, Pat Fitzgerald, and Carroll Walterhouse, where they have the fun and inspiration of working alongside each other. From time to time there are special member shows.
The photo to the left is of work using colored pencils by Club member Kathy Kelley. She has continued to work in this media and has a wonderful collection depicting scenes locally and throughout the world.
Please check the Beacon for information about our art displays, "Meet the Artist" programs and parties, and art classes at the Club.
